Days after his verbal falling out with Gautam Gambhir made global headlines, Virat Kohli reportedly wrote to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to explain his side of the story.

As per the report, Virat Kohli also highlighted his disappointment with the Indian cricket table for levying a hefty fine on him.

The 34-year-old reportedly stressed that his conversations with Naveen-ul-Haq or Gautam Gambhir were not harsh and his altercation with these players should not have attracted similar treatment from the BCCI.

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were fined 100% of their entry fees by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for their highly publicized war of words.

The RCB superstar was reportedly annoyed by Naveen ul-Haq’s aggressive behavior and complained to the BCCI about the same.

The dispute began during the closing stages of LSG’s run chase, in the 17th over of their essay, when a charged Virat Kohli got into a lengthy argument with the on-field umpires.

Soon after, the video of the bad episode was broadcast on the big screen by Star Sports, the official broadcasters of the premier T20 tournament.

In the footage, Virat Kohli could be seen saying something to Naveen-ul-Haq, resulting in the Afghan player accusing him. The Delhi-born cricketer, however, took none of it as he immediately countered with a tirade of his own before flashing his shoe to Naveen-ul-Haq. But it wasn’t exactly clear what the former India captain had said.

The bad scenes throughout the game didn’t stop there.

After players from both sides shook hands, Gautam Gambhir blamed Virat Kohli, with the former looking visibly angry at the latter over an issue.

In the viral clip, the RCB superstar argued with mentor LSG about something before KL Rahul and Vijay Dahiya stepped in and separated Gautam Gambhir from Virat Kohli.

A media release has revealed the exact words of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Virat Kohlis which sparked his pathetic verbal falling out with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Gautam Gambhir.

According to the report published by the Hindi newspaper Dainik Jagran, the scuffle between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir started with the former’s words infuriating the latter.

Damn shit. I want to say hello, Gautam Gambhir overheard Virat Kohli say this before he lost his temper and ran into superstar RCB for questioning for bullying his players.

An eyewitness has previously revealed shocking details of the fight between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir which erupted during a recent Indian Premier League (IPL) match in the capital of Uttar Pradesh.

The trigger for the war of words between the two Delhi-born cricketers appeared to be the swap of LSG batsman Kyle Mayer for the RCB superstar. Their exchange was later broken up by Gautam Gambhir, who pulled Kyle Mayers away from Virat Kohli.

Also, Gautam Gambhir’s wild celebrations in RCB’s previous meeting with LSG, which resulted in a one-race win for the KL Rahul-led team, angered Virat Kohli. But this time, Virat Kohli responded to LSG by celebrating with aggressiveness after RCB defeated the hosts by 18 runs, successfully defending a below-par total of 126.

You saw on TV that Mayers and Virat walked side by side for a few meters after the game. Mayers asked Kohli why he was constantly abusing them and Virat in turn asked why he (Mayers) was staring at him? Before that (Amit) Mishra had complained to the umpire that Virat was constantly abusing Naveen (ul-Haq), who is a No. 10 batsman, an eyewitness told a local news agency.

Gautam, sensing things could go badly, pulled Mayers in and told him not to have a conversation, when Virat made a comment. The heated exchange that followed seemed a little juvenile, the eyewitness added.

Gautam asked Kya bol raha hain bol’ (What were you saying?) and Virat replied, Maine aapko kuch bola hi naahin, aap kyon ghus rahein ho (Why do you get in the way when I didn’t tell you anything).

Gautam replied, Tuney agar mere player ko bola hai, matlab tune meri family ko gaali diya hai. (You abused my player and its like abusing my family) and Virat’s reply was : Toh aap apne family ko sambhal ke rakhiye. (Then you take care of your family).

Gambhir’s last reply before they parted ways was: Toh ab tu mujhe sikhayega (So now I have to learn from you).

A source who witnessed events in the UP said: “Kohli was expected to turn up fired in Lucknow. He was trying every LSG player during the match. Naveen-ul-Haq also didn’t back down when Kohli batted. But things got out of hand during the chase. Kohli was gesturing towards the crowd and imitating Gambhir. And then he said something to Naveen while pointing at the shoe. Naveen was very upset.

Mayers wasn’t having a cricket conversation with Kohli. He just went to Kohli to ask him why he was saying nasty things over a mere look from Meyers. Gambhir intervened and told Mayers that he didn’t make sense (to have) an argument and that further annoyed Kohli, the source added.
