Several Clemson University students, including three Goldwater Scholars, won awards Tuesday when the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences held its annual awards banquet.
The awards recognized outstanding student achievement in a number of areas, including scholarship, character and service.
Family, friends, faculty and supporters gathered in the Madren Conference Center ballroom for a banquet honoring the students.
The college principal, Anand Gramopadhye, urged students to seek truth and knowledge, to make the world a better place, and to appreciate all who help and guide them.
“We all look forward to living in the world you create,” said Gramopadhye. “Exceeds our expectations!”

This year’s honorees included a newly minted Goldwater Scholar, Vaishnavi Kanduri, and two who received the honor in past years, Gabriel Cutter and Arabella Rose Hunter.
The scholarship is one of the most prestigious and competitive university awards in the natural sciences, engineering and mathematics.
